Hi all,
i have a problem installing ARIS Connect Server 9.8 on my Linux system (Ubuntu).
I installed the necessary packages as described in the User Guide. When i start the installation from my Windows System, the connection to the Linux system is established and the installation progresses. I'm installing from ARIS_DVD-98.5.0.1091879
But it fails quite soon (every time i try) with an error message:
The logfiles are not much help either ... Does anyone have any idea? Thanks!

I uploaded documents to the aris document storage and connected the documents via the attribute aris document storage link withe some objects. All works fine but when I click on the link under the architect or publisher always the log in screen appears before you can open/download the document
My question is can this be skipped under the settings?

Hi all,
i installed a certificate from let's encrypt on our Server. Aris Connect via the Webinterface works without any problems.
Using the ARIS Client however results in a certificate error. Do i have to install the Root-Certificate of Let's Encrypt somewhere?
I have the Root-Cerfiticate in my Java config, but it does not help with the connection to the ARIS Server.

Is it possible to configure Group Attributes in a Filter?

in our environment we just migrated from ARIS 7.2 to Aris 9.8.
The 7.2 Clients (Architect and Designer) were used via Microsoft App-V Version 4.6.2 without any problems.
Now we use Microsoft App-V Version 5.1 to provide the ARIS 9.8 Client for the user.
The user now report about performance issues while working with the client. While working with models (editing), different actions like editing an object, replace an object or select multiple objects it takes up to 30 seconds or more until the action is done. This behavior is sporadically.
When the client is installed and used local the user aren't having these problems.
We did already contact the ARIS Support and asked about known issues with the use of App-V 5.1, but there is none.
I would like to know if someone else is using App-V 5.1 to deploy the ARIS Client, and maybe does or did have the same issues.

I am trying to understand what it means from a user/ modeller perspective when the actual backup is scheduled during the day.The manualstates users cannot work on the tenant during back up. What if the user is already logged in and editing a model. What does that actually look like from a users perspective, are they kicked out ?
Am I correct in understanding that a tenant can be restored both by the Tenant management tool and also the Cloud Controller Command line?
Currently got ARIS 98.7 set up with Designer connect on thin client. Just wanted some recommendations on designing a simple change control process.
So as an example modelers will have rw+c access to models, they submit a proposal. The QA person receives that proposal and either approves or rejects that proposal. The proposal may mean it was either an actual edit to the model or just some comments seeking a response.
If the QA person approves the changes he then runs the semantic/ structural checks, if these are okay..QA person re-versions and we then merge the database with the live db on a weekly basis.
Can anyone provide me with a simple example of how they manage the change control process?
Is there any difference using the ARIS change request process within Design connect (Person responsible attribute) and from within the ARIS architect/ designer thick client install.What does the 'Start governance' functionality do that is difference from within Designer connect.
Does Publisher server need to be installed on its own dedicated server. What are the memory requirements.
Can I share with the Architect/ Designer Connect install sitting on a 16gb 8 core box.

Just trying to understand the products.
-I have ARIS Architect/ Designer installed. This is the thick client install. Is there a thin client version ( non 'Connect' version of this available too? Based on my license information below do I have that?
- I have also installed Connect Designer/ Server. This is up and running and pointing to a database I created in ARIS Architect and users I created using UMC.
-I am fairly new to the Connect suite and am considering using the traditional client install for ARIS Designer, is this available as a thin client install?
-Am I correct in understanding the Connect suite can be used to replace the traditional thin/ thick client Architect/ designer and Publisher set up with additional groovy collaboration / socialising functionality.
- Also if I am restoring a new Tenant, are there any licensing considerations I need to follow up on?

- I tried logging in as a new user in Architect, and getting a license error message. It allows me to log in via Connect designer? No problem logging in as a system manager.
- Also, its allowing me to delete models and objects via Connect designer although I have specified (RW+C) access to the test group/ models. Read (R---) only access is working well.!!
-Can I add comments via Architect/ designer and not through Connect designer.
- Ideally is better to have Connect server and thick client Architect/ Designer installed on separate servers? Currently installed on a single box and working ok.

When I try generating reports on my Prod UMC, a 0KB XLS gets generated without any data in it. But when try to generate the same report on my dev environment UMC, it works. I get this below error message when I try to open that 0KB file. Could you please help me with this issue.

How (and where) can I set the authorizations to format objects (e.g. change the colour of an object, copy and paste the format of an object onto another object)?
A colleague of mine says that in previous releases this could be done through detailed authorization settings. Unfortunately I cannot find such detailed settings.
I would appreciate if someone of you could help me out.

I am migrating some processes from and older release of Aris 9.8 sr3 to sr7
So far I have managed to import the config file (.adb) via Aris server administrator and also the database (.adb) via architect. My next objective is to import user profiles:-
1) All users/ user groups.
2) Import the current access privileges & functional privileges.
The first step will be backup the database and tenant tomorrow.
Do I export all users/ user groups via UMC and then import?
Assign all access/ functional privileges via architect via an .xls report import. I know there are a couple of reports which provide the functional and access privilege mapping. Do I import that in architect to give me the mapping
It probably wiser to this all as single tenant import action. But we are doing this separately.The process model db and its config. is already imported.
Can somebody provide the best approach to now import all users/ user groups and associated access/ functional privileges. I also need to ensure that the current user to usergroup allocation is carried over too.
Any advice would really be appreciated.
I have set up access privileges (RWD) in ARIS Architect, however when I set groups/ sub-groups as (RW-) I still have the ability to delete objects and models in ARIS Connect Designer. Read (R--) access works correctly?
Is this a bug or am I missing a step?

Once I create a new ARIS Publisher account, the system automatically send an email to the related user with Username and Password but without the related ARIS Publisher link.
It there the possibility to Customize the standard email sent by the system? Or at least add the ARIS Publisher link in the email subject ?

whenever i add attribute to one process (Detail process Diagram), the same attribute is available to all the processes.

In experimenting with using different user access and privilege setups, there is a difference in functionality of the Change Management features in Architect vs Designer. Does anyone have a table or doc or help that describes theses differences and how user management effects it?
Secondly, has anyone written a script to specifically run the "Reset all change management attributes" that a user can run on an Object from within Designer?
