Does anybody know how do we add user information like user name and password in the html template, while customizing the user notifications in UMC?
for e.g. User Creation notification
The default notification email message body contains the user name and password in it. However if we confgure the message body with our custom message, it completely replaces the default message.
I need UMC to send out our custom email message with user details in it.

By way of background, I’m installing onto a Ubuntu V16 Linux server running on AWS. My client machine is a Mac and I can’t run the remote install from there so instead I’m running a Windows 2012 Server VMware instance and installing from there.
Here’s my installation steps:
1. I FTP’d the installers to the Ubuntu instance.
2. I’ve opened up port 9001 and can ping the port both from my Mac as well as the Windows VM. I’ve used the Network Utility on Mac and Test-NetConnection program on Win2012Server PowerShell to show this.
3. I’ve installed the ARIS Agent on the Linux Server.
4. The server reports that the Agent is running.
5. I then installed ARIS Cloud Controller on the Win2012 instance.
6. I ran ACC on the Win2012 instance and tried to create a node on the remote machine. This worked (although actually I don’t see this node listed on the server).
7. Finally, on the Ubuntu machine, I ran ACC and tried to create a TEST2 node. This worked too.
8. Thinking that everything is looking good, I run the ARIS Designer installer from the Win2012Server instance and walk through the first few steps. Eventually, I get an error message that says "the remote server cannot be reached, and that I should check port 9001, etc."
So it seems like the Agent really is running on the server and the port really is open so the installer should work.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what might be happening?
Hello all,
We have Schedule Tasks in ARIS Designer. Normally these should be executed around 12am, but they are executed 2 hours later.The time and zone are displayed correctly on the Server.
i found something strange: When i try to modify these Schedule Tasks it is displayed correclty at 12am, but when i look at Overview of the Tasks at the Column "Next Start..", it says 2am...
Maybe it is because of the Summer time changeover.
Does someone know how to fix this or have suggestions?

Hi guys, my apologies if this has been covered already, but my Client has a requirement where they have Dev and Prod within the same ARIS database and want to publish these separately on Connect.
They specifically do not want to see the Dev folders either on the Prod publish and vice versa.
Does anyone know if this has been enabled yet? The last time I asked it wasn't, and if not, does anyone know a way around it as creating two separate databases will not work for them either.

Hello all,
I have an issue connecting the Aris Architect client with the publisher server. My Publisher Server is redirecting all http to https by modifying the web.xml file.
We are using Aris 9.8 version and My publisher server http port is 80 and https port is 443.
When i add the publisher server i specify the port 80
1. While https is not enforced i am able to connect to my publisher server from the Aris Architect client.
2. While https is enforced i am not able to.
3. The thing is that i have the same setup in my dev environment (same port numbers and same https config) and it is working properly with https enforced.
Any idea ?

recently we have done an installation of ARIS Connect.
Two users have succesfully downloaded the ARIS web client (Architect/Designer) and are able to work.

The proxy settings are specified through GPO for all workstations, so we don't understand because for some workstations the download works fine and for other no.
The Connect URL is https://aris.intranet.xxxx.local/, the secure connection is handled by a proxy server of the customer; we have installed ARIS without configuring SSL but for the connection to the server with every client, we use the port 443.
So I think that the client should look for the file jar at the URL https://aris.intranet.xxxx.local/abs/downloadClient//lib/y-aris-client-loader.jar and not at http://aris.intranet.xxxx.local:80/abs/downloadClient//lib/y-aris-client-loader.jar
Do you have any suggestion for us?
Maybe do we have to configure the proxy on ARIS server through ACC?

Hi,
While trying to import XML (ARIS 98.7.0.1127174), I encountered an error that
"XYZ Worflow Library: symbol Merge is locked by user1@default"
and the import terminated. When I contacted support, I was asked to use the ARIS Server Administrator and use the command called "freesymbollocks <dbname>". When I list all the databases in my installation, I see the "XYZ Workflow Library" in the list. However, when I ran the freesymbollocks command, it does not seem to recognize the database.
Has anyone successfully ran this command? If so, can you please let me know the correct syntax that I should use?

I've installed just now ARIS 9.8.2 on a cloud server with a public IP for testing with the default ports 80 and 443.
Now I manage to login to UMC using the http port (80) but if I try to connect using the HTTPS port, Firefox return me a "SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER.
I've tried to add a certificate security exception but I've the message

I cant see the or, and symbols on the symbol when i add them in process, but when i use same filter and same template in database which was created earlier i don't face the issue.

Hello, I have installed ARIS Connect , the medium installation (for until 50 users).
My connect server and also Architect, don't have the UMG demo database showing anywhere.
But, if I do try to upload a database called UMG, it will say it already exists, but I can't see it.
Already went to ARIS Connect -> Administration -> Publish, and it does not appear there, so
can't publish it.
What am I doing wrong?

to complete our models I need some new object types, derived from an existing object type.
Inside the ARIS administration / configuration / method / object types I find all the existing object types. I can edit the object types and give them a new name. But in this case I have the "old" object type with the new name. But I need the new object types as wall as the old, the new ones with the same characteristics. Or just the three object types independent from others.
In the content menu (right mouse click) I can choose "edit", "copy" or "rename". But after "copy" (or Strg+C) there is no paste and Strg+V does not work.
So I would be very happy if someone can help me.

We've encountered a problem at one of our client sites.
The ARIS v9.8 Agent running on Windows 2012 R2 server does not want to start.
When trying to run the ARIS Server Administrator, we get the error "ARIS Agent not running".
When looking at the services, it shows as Stopped, if you select Start service, it fails.
What will the impact be if we reinstall ARIS Agent?

I use LOCAL server of ARIS Architect 9.8 on study purposes.
Prehistory: I've backed up my database and then restored it on the same server but with another name. The original database is still on the server.
The problem: Now, I can see the truncated functionality (less available attributes and object types) and some objects are unavailable (as it's shown on the screenshot) in the "new" restored database.
The question: How to save both databases and make functionality of the restored one full?
Probably a stupid question, but hope to find the solution.

We have an issue with Publisher users.
We recently installed ARIS Server 10 and ARIS Publisher Server 10 with standard (derby) database. We linked Publisher user management with ARIS Server UMC during the installation. We can confirm this is done correctly because we can see our user groups in the ARIS Publisher Administration. However we can not see the Users. Reorganizing does not help either.
So at this point we are only able to use anonymously accessed Publisher exports. None of our users can log in to Publisher Home page (other than "root" obviously).
Is this related to the use of demo database system or is there something else we are missing?

We recently ran the upgrade from ARIS 98.3 to 98.7 and since then the items within the configuration is not visible.
To clarify: We can see all models, all customized models, all customized object and symbols within the models themselves.
We cannot see any Attribute symbols, Attribute type groups, Attribute types, Connection types, Model types, Object types or Symbols under Configuration, Method. On the right hand side it is just blank.
Everything else is working perfectly. Has anyone else seen this?

I am searching for books regarding ARIS administration online but I can only see Rob Davis'"ARIS Advance Process Modelling and Administration" which was published last 2010. Since ARIS has been upgraded already, I would like to know if this is still helpful with today's current setup, with how to maintain/housekeep the databases and how to create reports (if it is discussed on the book).
If not, can you please advise other books that can help me with ARIS administration?

One of the users face issue when accessing ARIS Designer 9.8, after sometime user gets error message like, connection to server has been interrupted and to connect again she has to launch client all over again.
Could you please help here and also where exactly I can look for user specific logs.
